World’s First Perfectly Portable Espresso Maker
No compromises are made with the mypressi twist giving the best brew possible in the palm of your hand. Along with giving a cup or two or espresso the mypressi is ultra portable and convenient. Add fresh ground coffee, hot water and just pull the trigger and you can have quality espresso anywhere anytime in 45 seconds.
The mypressi TWIST works on a one-of-its-kind pneumatic engine (running on standard gas cartridges available at most kitchen good retailers) that really works up this wonder without any external power. Unlike the French handpresso wich requires pumping action to build the PSI the American made mypressi twist is all internally powered by the gas cartridge. Also unlike the handpresso, the stunning appliance will use both fresh ground coffee and pods, so you wont be stuck in that dreaded coffee pod economy.
For the time being the Twist is just a prototype, and won’t be on the market until early this fall and will sell for a reasonable $129.
The one flaw is that it’s awkward to fill with water: you unscrew the top of the orb, untwist a gasket and pour in hot water (ideally at about 210 degrees, just below boiling). This issue was later addressed from the prototype. Now there is a lid on top to pour the water from. Which brings up another issue, namely that you need to add water that’s already been heated on a stovetop or in an electric kettle.
It measures up to 1.5L x 3.5″W X 3.5″H and can generate pressure to the tune of 9 bars. You just need 20-30 seconds for an ideal attraction.
