The best tasting coffee always starts with clean filtered water, fresh coffee beans, and the perfect brew. You can get all three in one package when you use an automatic espresso machine as your coffee maker.

Fresh Roast Coffee by Posh Portage
If fresh isn’t enough to convince you, these machines are simple to use, they brew one customized cup of coffee at a time, and they even clean the filter so you don’t have to. Yes super automatic espresso machine make more than espresso shots, they make the best cup of coffee you will ever enjoy.
Most coffee makers or coffee machines today are drip machines. There are some good drip machines out there and some will grind your beans and filter the water. But none exceeds the precision you will find with an automatic espresso machine.

Aqua Prima Water Filters are used in Gaggia and Saeco Super Automatic machines.
The automatic espresso machine will use a high rated filter cartridge which usually submerges in the water reservoir. These filters remove a very high percentage of sediment in the drinking water. Jura and Bosch use Claris filters which are recognized worldwide for their efficiency. Saeco and Gaggia use Aqua Prima Filters which are also highly effective in creating clear, clean water which eliminates bad coffee odor.
The grinder in these multi talented machines is usually a high precision grinder capable of many grinder settings so you can have your beans ground to your customized liking. Drip machine that are equipped with grinders usually use blade grinders which are less efficient and not programmable. (more…)

Dezcal by Urnex for eliminating scale in your Espresso Machine Boiler System
Descaling your espresso machine is effortless and effective when you utilize products that are customized for your particular type of machine. It wasn’t long ago that vinegar was the desired chemical for cleaning coffee and espresso machines. More recently, our coffee appliances have become more sophisticated and efficient. Thus, requiring a descaling agent that would effectively remove the mineral build-up on the water boiler and tank, while protecting the appliance from caustic odors and undesirable toxic chemicals. It is also important to use a product that is safe and non-toxic for human consumption.
Different espresso machines require different descaling techniques and products to do the job. You will find decalcifying agents in liquid, tablet, and powder forms. Different Manufacturers recommend different forms of descaling products, but basically the goal is all the same. You want to remove the scale using a chemical that is placed in the water reservoir so it can be taken up into the boiler and tubes that deliver the boiling water. As the chemical soaks inside the machine, it cleans the build-up.
With all espresso machines, the goal is to put the correct concentration of descaler into the water reservoir and run the product through all tanks and tubes. If you are using tablets, you must first dissolve the tablets completely before running the descale cycle. This takes only a few minutes and is actually fun to watch. When water mixes with the tablet you will witness an entertaining show of fuzzing, bubbles, and “water dancing”, as I like to call it.

Espresso machines make great coffee, but there must be more advantages to owning such an expensive coffee maker. Are they worth their high price tag? Do they do the dishes? Is the coffee of such great quality? Do they make real espresso? What else can you use an espresso machine for besides coffee beverages? Do they really make sense?
Espresso machines are expensive but they are also worth every penny as I will be happy to explain. These machines are absolutely fabulous! I know of one person who owns one and doesn’t even drink espresso. Espresso machines have many handy uses. Do they do the dishes? Well espresso machines do clean up after themselves. The super-automatic espresso machines grind, tamp, and pull the espresso shot for you, all of this while you push a button and do nothing else at all. After making your shot of espresso, the espresso machine dumps the used coffee grounds. You do nothing else, no grinding, no mess, nothing. So yes, they do clean up after themselves.
